Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving 1944 came on the heels of some of the roughest fighting the division had encountered in the war. Discomforts of dining notwithstanding, the troops were more than happy to get hot turkey fare on November 23 and didn't gripe about lack of formality. The smile on the face of Pvt. Robert Sears of Kingston, N.H., (26th cav rec tr) reflect the general mood of the soldiers on this happy day.
